Well Americarna 2020 is now all over for another year.
We dodged a number of bullets with the weather! The light rain Friday evening didn’t have an effect on our cruising and the number of people in town was awesome. In fact, I believe the number of people out and about the region waiting to see the vehicles was as large as I’ve ever seen. Waitara – Inglewood – Stratford – Hawera Township were all abuzz with people, even Opunake had plenty awaiting our arrival.
Mangorei Road Friday night was outstanding and continues to grow, mind you they’re fast running out of space! New Plymouth CBD Saturday was again a massive crowd all day – we couldn’t ask for more, very pleasing.
The Harley stunt riders put on a great show in Hawera and New Plymouth CBD so to Kingi Walters and your team, well done, and we hope to get you back for 2021!
Everyone enjoyed the Farewell Function and dinner – plenty of food and great too.
The date for next year are Tuesday 23rd February – registration, with the first official day Wednesday 24th and finishing Saturday 27th 2021. We aim to open for registration July, so keep checking your emails.
Unfortunately, Sunday was a tragic day and we regret to inform you that we lost a long-time attendee who lost his life after an idiot pulled out to pass, hitting them. Unfortunately, Kevin passed away at the scene and Pauline is in Waikato Hospital and is expected to make a full recovery. Our thoughts go out to Pauline and her family.
This is something I hope to never have to advise you of ever again!
