Newsletter 7th September 2017

Hi all,
Well, thought it was about time you heard from me!
Things have been rather hectic with my “real” job so I’ve left a tonne of the work to Nadine who has really got her teeth well and truly into her role as Americarna Co-ordinator.

  • Steve & Mitch Day from Pace Power & Air, a division of Pace Engineeringwho kindly provided the large stainless-steel toolbox as a giveaway this year has agreed to do the same for the 2018 event. Thank you, Steve Day & Mitch Day.
  • Nadine has also arranged giveaways from Marshall Power Ltd – Exide, Supercharge Batteries and Marshall Batteries with vouchers to give away at the Farewell Function.
  • Z Energy have confirmed the $0.10c/litre discount and all the same service stations will offer this as they did this year.  We will remind you closer to the event so that those driving from the North or South can get the discount on their way to the event and return trip home. Z Energy will also supply vouchers, and Americarna will also purchase vouchers.  This year we gave away $5,000 in Z Fuel Cards.
  • We’re still working on what Repco’s offering will be – hopefully we can do the same as this year for the 2018 event.  We will let you know.

We have two Nitro Cars for the 2018 Go-Stop in Hawera.  They will also be in Inglewood on Thursday evening for the first time, and downtown New Plymouth on Saturday, so hopefully the boys coming don’t suffer any major breakages beforehand!
We have formulated a plan for the Rest Home run which will make this a much more co-ordinated part of the event and as such, we will be asking local entrants in November that want to lead a group to get in touch, and also ask if they have a specific Rest Home they wish to manage.
The amount of first time attendees registered so far in unbelievable, we’re going to see a heap of new cars.
Our Registration Welcome Team, lead by Yvette Preston this year, have come up with some great ideas which will be used for the 2018 event.  One of which, is to have a dedicated team to helping first time entrants.  This makes the registration process quicker for our regulars and allow quality time to be spent assisting our first timers.
There is still plenty of accommodation in New Plymouth, so keep your entries rolling in.  Early entry definitely helps with the planning of the event, and confirming which venues to use for our functions.
Well that’s it for now.
