Latest News - 8 March 2017

Hi, all .......... Well, Americarna 2017 is now all but a memory and what great memories they are for us and by all accounts those that attended.

Being the 10th Anniversary, we knew entrant numbers were going to be higher than normal so we were pleased to finish up with 817 vehicles.

Yes, we had some traffic congestion in a couple of spots and hopefully, we can find some solutions moving forward.

2017 saw many new cars and new faces which are fantastic.  Many of the first-time attendees have already booked their accommodation for 2018 – awesome!

The dates for 2018 will be 21st – 24th of February.

As we continually work to improve the event and add new things, 2018 will be no different.  Obviously, we welcome feedback so if you have any ideas you would like to submit for consideration please email them through to john@americarna.com.

Once the programme is finalised, we will advise via email and at the same time entry will be live on our website, however, this is not likely to be until June/July.

We want to offer rewards of some kind to those that register early, having early registration helps immensely with planning.

Toni is currently completing the event wrap-up for the Trust before heading off to a new chapter and challenge in her life so we wish her well with that.

We are in negotiations with Toni’s replacement and hope to announce this shortly.

We have a limited amount of 2017 merchandise left but not a huge amount, thankfully, so if you weren’t here and want a Women’s or Men’s T-Shirt etc. Brooke will send out an email next week with sizes and items available.

We’re also working on ideas for our 2017 U.S Tour and again if you think you would like to join our illustrious group, which is limited to 45, drop me an email john@americarna.com.

Toni has the final work with this email so now handed to Toni.............

Commemorative Hoods Signed by 2017 Entrants
The two hoods that were signed by entrants at Americarna are now up for auction on TradeMe. Either one would make a seriously cool addition to any shed! This is managed by Conductive Education Taranaki and all proceeds go to their charitable organisation.

Get bidding now as the auction ends Sunday 12 March 2017!

1965 Chevrolet Impala Hood: www.trademe.co.nz/…/automotive-…/cars/auction-1273456728.htm

Message from Conductive Education:
Both hoods are being auctioned to raise funds to help us deliver Specialist Disability Intervention to Taranaki kids that currently travel to Hamilton or Wellington for sessions. We have employed a “Conductor” to deliver these sessions in the Naki, commencing mid-2017, so our little ones don’t have to leave magnificent Taranaki to get the best opportunity to realise their potential. We sincerely appreciate Americarna this year and in the past, as car people…are good people!

Goodbye
I'd like to sneak in and take this opportunity to say thank you to you all!  The past 9 years have been a blast. I have so many great memories to take away, met many amazing people and made some fantastic friends for life. I will miss not being involved in something that brings so much vibrancy to my home province.  I'm not sure yet what my next adventure will be but I'll continue to keep myself involved within the car community, so I'll see you at out there somewhere!  Be sure to come say Hi!  Toni.

Cheers for now!
