Michael Buzarellos' 1932 Ford
This car caught Michael Buzarellos’ eye when he first spotted it in Reno at the world-famous Hot August Nights event. Michael says that he was impressed with the car’s beautiful fit and finish, and how the rear pan and fenders had been bobbed to show off a fully plated and polished Jag IRS.
Further investigation revealed that it had been built by the very talented Kevin Bischoff of Bischoff’s Restorations in Ridgefield, WA. What’s more, Michael learned that it was for sale. Bringing it home to Chico to park next to his other toys required nary a second thought.
The car that Kevin had built is a beautiful blend of color and style. It is a Down’s body with a 3.5” chop, and the flawless Cobalt Blue candy paint is accented with a blaze of multi-hued flames. These stretch from stem to stern and give the car the feeling of being in motion even when parked.
Suspension goodies include a TCI frame with their matching IFS up front. Wilwood brakes adorn the front corners and the inboard positions of the shiny Jag rear as well. 16 and 18” Billet Specialties Vintecs are wrapped in Toyo rubber and fill the fenders perfectly.
Forward motion is provided courtesy of a Vortec-headed Chevy 350, topped with a trick air cleaner that was hand-fabricated by Kevin. It’s even painted and flamed to match.
The interior was finished off just as nicely as every other inch of the car. Red leather wraps most surfaces including the Glide seat and custom console. Speaking of consoles, there is an audio system and a Sony flat-screen nestled in a custom one overhead.
A Billet Specialties Vintec steering wheel and column were recruited to transfer directional input and a Gennie shifter was selected to actuate the 700R4.
Mike says that he is fortunate enough to own a few cars at the moment, but this beautifully flamed, Cobalt Blue beauty is definitely one of his favorites.
