We are limiting the number of vehicles for the 2019 event. American Left Hand Drive Vehicles are permitted, new or old.
Special interest vehicles, which along with all the Classics, Customs and Hot Rods, is what Americarna has been built on. Anyone entering a NZ RHD Mustang must contact firstname.lastname@example.org for prior permission before entering.

Registration and merchandise open at 1:00pm at the TSB Stadium, off Rogan Street, New Plymouth. This is our home base for the event and where all cruises depart from. You are required to visit us here before participating in the event to collect your event information pack and ID.

Wednesday 20th February 2019
Today is the first ‘official’ day of Mainstream Americarna 2019 and departure from home base is 10:30am. A trip to Opunake Beach! You can expect the streets to be lined with school children along the route out of New Plymouth, cheering and waving you by. The cruise will take us to Opunake via Surf Highway 45.
Once at Opunake Beach, park up, grab some food or pull out your picnic, sit back, relax and enjoy the atmosphere. On a sunny day the beach and water are beautiful, so don’t forget to bring your togs and towel. ‘Hawaiian’ will be todays theme; perfect for a great day at the beach. There will be prizes for the best dressed!
You are free to leave Opunake at 2:30pm. Alternate route into New Plymouth turn left at Omata onto Beach road to view the Islands at Paritutu.
The Classic Cover Insurance Welcome Function will start from 3:00pm at the TSB Stadium. Drink and food vouchers will be in your registration pack, please bring with you to redeem and enjoy the band playing and soak up the atmosphere and catch up with friends old and new.
Remember to bring a fold up chair for each person in the car!

Thursday 21st February 2019
It’s day two of Mainstream Americarna. By now you will be in the swing of a great time. The theme for today is ‘T-Shirt Thursday’. Round up is at the TSB Stadium with a 12:00noon departure. From here we head out to see the wonderful people of Waitara. Once you are parked up, grab some lunch and enjoy all the entertainment at Waitara.
3:00pm it’s back on the road again. Inglewood will be our destination via the Tarata Tunnel. The Inglewood community is renowned for their amazing street party, so you will be well looked after tonight. At 8:00pm you are free to depart.

Friday 22nd February 2019
Today is a long day. So, to help make things a little easier for you this morning, breakfast will be available for purchase at the TSB Stadium prior to leaving. The theme for today is ‘50’s Friday! Departure time will be 9:45am with Stratford as our first destination. The route to Stratford will allow us to cruise by more schools, as well as give us a chance to re-group before the next leg. Once in Stratford, locals will have the opportunity to check out your pride and joy while you look around, grab a snack and a coffee.
At 12:15pm it’s time to cruise to South Taranaki with Hawera as our destination. The route to Hawera will be via Kaponga and Manaia, again allowing more children the opportunity to see the convoy. Upon your arrival the Hawera locals will welcome you with open arms. Once parked, grab some food, take in some shopping and check out the action at the Go-Stop drags. We have several Nitro cars this year at the Go-Stop.
We will also be offering free buses to Tawhiti Museum with free entry to the first 50 requests. Widely acclaimed as the best private museum in the country, Tawhiti uses life size exhibits and scale models to present our heritage in a series of super realistic and engaging displays. From Hawera we head back at 5:15pmto New Plymouth for main street cruising via the amazing Mangorei Road Street Party! Once in the New Plymouth CBD you will be greeted by thousands of locals vying for a spot to check out your cars. You can cruise laps, or park up in the closed road area, grab some food and relax at the end of a long day.
Cruising ends at 9:30pm.

Saturday 23rd February 2019
Today is Americarnival day in the New Plymouth CBD. You will be parked in town from 8:30am ready for public viewing at 10:00am – 3:00pm. Your cars will be on display for the public to enjoy while you do a bit of shopping, eat great food, enjoy the entertainment around town or take the opportunity to stroll through the picturesque Pukekura Park, or along the Coastal Walkway.
At 3:00pm it’s back to your cars, time to exit the CBD and get ready for tonight’s festivities! Farewell Party! Tonight’s theme will be none other than Rock n Roll!
A pre-function dinner will be available for those who purchased meal tickets during registration. 6:00pm dinner.
For those who opted to arrive after the dinner, party time kicks off from 7:30pm.
There will be entrant prizes chosen today, but you must be at the finale party to claim your prize.
We have not changed our daily runs as they work well and there’s no point in fixing something if it’s not broken!
From here our celebrations come to an end. As you head home Sunday and back to reality you can reflect on your week and feel happy in knowing you have been a part of providing something very special to the Taranaki community!
